These high quality plugs are made of 2 mm thick natural latex. Attached is a valve made of steel that controls the in and out flux of air. This model has a foam core inside, which makes it easier to insert inside with your favourite lube. 

As these butt plugs are made of natural latex, they do not tolerate oil-based lubricants (such as Crisco and Boy butter), as it will destroy the material. Always use only a high quality water-based lubricant, or a hybrid lube.
