The difference between different types of lubricants

The difference between different types of lubricants

Water-based Lubricant

Water-based lubricant is the most versatile type. It feels natural, is easy to wash off, and can be used with all types of condoms and sex toys. Perfect for everyday use, though it may need reapplication during longer sessions.

Silicone-based Lubricant

Silicone-based lubricant is extremely smooth and long-lasting. Ideal for use in water (e.g., in the bath) and for extended activities. However, it should not be used with silicone toys and can be slightly harder to wash off.

Hybrid Lubricant (Water + Silicone)

Hybrid lubricant combines the best of both worlds – the natural feel of water-based with the long-lasting smoothness of silicone. Gentle, easy to use, and usually compatible with both condoms and sex toys.

Oil-based Lubricant

Oil-based lubricants are extremely smooth and long-lasting. Great for massage and extended sessions – and can be used in water. However, they should not be used with latex condoms as they can degrade the material and increase the risk of breakage. They can also stain fabrics and are often harder to wash off completely.
