FAQ about Bondage Ropes

Which bondage rope should I choose as a beginner?

Start with a soft rope made from cotton or synthetic material – it's easy to work with and gentle against the skin.

What is a bondage ring or shibari ring used for?

Rings are used as fixed points for suspension or to gather and secure multiple rope lines in one place.

Is bondage tape reusable?

Yes, most bondage tapes can be used multiple times - and they only stick to themselves, not to skin or hair.

Can I use regular rope from the hardware store?

We do not recommend that. Bondage rope is specifically made for safe and comfortable use on the body - it is both softer and more flexible - and you avoid "burn marks" from friction.

BONDAGE ROPE – PLAY, CONTROL AND CREATIVITY

Rope can be used for very simple things, such as attaching cuffs to, for example, the headboard, but can also be expanded to a whole universe of rope harnesses, fixations and sensory games.

In general, there are two types of rope:

Natural fiber (such as hemp, jute and cotton)

Synthetic fiber (such as nylon)

Natural rope is typically a little more expensive and requires more care. On the other hand, they are softer on the skin, and the knots hold easier, as the rope is softer.

Synthetic fiber has a tendency to create more heat when pulled over the skin, and is smoother, so they can be harder to tame. On the other hand, they are often stronger, require less care and are available in more colors.
